PREVIEW: Wolverhampton Wanderers vs Arsenal

Following a disappointing week that has seen them lose ground in the title race and be knocked out of the Champions League, Arsenal return to Premier League action with a visit to Molinieux to face Wolves.

With Manchester City playing in the FA Cup, The Gunners know a win would take them back to the top of the table and put the pressure on the reigning Champions.

Injury News - Arsenal

Arsenal have an almost completely fit squad, with only Jurrien Timber expected to miss out. Mikel Arteta stated in his pre-match press conference that he would feature for the U21s in an upcoming game to make the next step in his recovery.

Injury News - Wolves

Wolves have an extensive injury list heading into the game and will know that any potential scalp will depend on their threadbare squad upsetting the odds.

Craig Dawson, Leon Chiwone, Pedro Neto, Matheus Cunha, Nelson Semedo, Jean-Ricner Bellegarde and Noha Lemina are all ruled out with injury. Rayan Ait-Nouri is expected to return to the bench after returning to training.

Form

The Gunners have suffered a dip.in form and have not won in their last three fixtures across all competitions, including the shock 2-0 defeat at home to Aston Villa last Sunday.

Wolves have won once in their last five league games and drew 2-2 away to Nottingham Forest in their last match. They currently sit 11th in the table.

Recent History

Arsenal have played Wolves 123 times in their history and have won 63, drawn 28 and lost 32 times.

They won the reverse fixture 2-1 with goals from Bukayo Saka and Martin Odegaard.

Played For Both

A host of players have represented both clubs, including players such as Benik Adobe, Vince Bartram, Oleg Luzhny, Emmanuel Frimpong and Jeremie Aliadiere.

Prediction

Arsenal simply have to bounce back following a turbulent week in their quest for silverware. They play twice before Manchester City next do in the league and so can put some real pressure on with two wins. Wolves are struggling for form but have an excellent record against the bigger sides this season. It will be tough, but Arsenal should come through with all three points.

Wolves 0-2 Arsenal
